IRSSS’ RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN (RAP)

IRSSS’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) aims to develop and deliver increased employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across all areas of employment in the IRSSS team.

The Workfast RAP acknowledges that through improved engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and provision of culturally safe and respectful workplaces, sustainable employment outcomes for Indigenous people can be achieved.

The objectives of the IRSSS RAP are to increase awareness of Aboriginal history and increased accessibility to workplace resources. The results of a successful IRSSS RAP can lead to:

  • a higher percentage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in work;
  • an increased understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people culture across IRSSS; and
  • establish relationships with external Indigenous organisations and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The IRSSS RAP provides clear and measurable actions to address these objectives.

The IRSSS RAP focuses on assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to gain employment. The Workfast RAP also identifies the need to increase engagement ofAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to increase employment opportunities forAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
